Yada Talks Building Relationships with SOM

SOM - Building Relationships

Yada Talks

The third of our new series to complement YADA Networking, YADA Talks, look to question the every day and engage in a discussion amongst inspiring thinkers, change-makers and risk-takers. The aim is to create a community where attendees can share their project stories, engage with ideas and each other, challenge the status quo, and celebrate architects’ and developers’ positive relationships, leading to motivated project teams and great architecture.

Building Relationships

The construction industry is like any other business. In order for a project to be successful, you have to build strong ties and maintain their integrity going forward. So the question is: how do we build great relationships in the construction industry?

This YADA presentation showcased two amazing London projects. Their young architects presented alongside their clients, to demonstrate how the strength of their communications and great working relationships solved key issues.

Museum of London

The Museum of London is relocating to a new 24-hour cultural destination in West Smithfield. Designed by Stanton Williams, Asif Khan, and Julian Harrap Architects, the £337m project will be a major transformation of several historic market buildings, in what is the city’s once in a generation opportunity to reconceive what a museum for London can be. The new Museum of London is part of the Culture Mile project, an ambitious urban and cultural collaboration between the museum, the City of London Corporation, the Barbican, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and London Symphony Orchestra.
